From twanslist at mac.com Sat Feb 13 14:53:40 2010 From: twanslist at mac.com (Twan) Date: Sat, 13 Feb 2010 14:53:40 -0800 Subject: [Twan's List] V06:Issue003 Message-ID: <02C2729E-D3CE-4B0E-9DEF-A5AE828A0F17@mac.com> Hello There! As I'm sure you're aware, tonight will be a great night for getting out and rubbing elbows and other body parts with L.A.'s finest. That's right, tonight is the 5th Annual Lucent L'amour presented by some of my personal faves the Do LaB. Listen, these crazy Do LaB kids go way out on a limb to throw down some of the finest events to grace the southland (not to mention infecting other parts of the planet with the benevolent meme of creation, social interaction, art, community building, and ultra-memorable good times). I know they've put a lot of effort and loads of cash into tonight's event. It's going to be exceptional. And they need the support. The way I see it, if we as a community (or disparate party-hounds, exhibitionists, lone-wolves, whatever) enjoy having events like these, we've got to come out and support the fine folks who put theirselves at risk in order to have a positive impact in the quality of our lives. If you haven't been out for a while (much as your humble host), make an exception tonight. Fuck it. I'm there! Twan http://www.twanslist.com ===================== ** TONITE SAT. FEB 13: LUCENT L?AMOUR PRESENTED BY THE DO LAB ** What Is Lucent L?amour? Lucent L?amour is a festival that embraces the visual, architectural and performance arts as passionately as it does music and dance. It is the transformation of one night into a spontaneous combustion of love and mayhem. It is a creative synthesis of dance and electronic music, vaudeville performance, and street art into one multi-sensory experience. To create the fifth annual Lucent L?amour, The Do LaB is bringing you two stages of music and performance, a cutting edge art gallery, live painters, larger-than-life interactive sculptures, and elaborate stage and environment designs from the west coasts leading artists. ?Buy the ticket, take the ride.? FEB 13: FREE MOVIE: HOW WEED WON THE WEST ** http://www.twanslist.com/2010/how-weed-won-the-west/ On Saturday February 13th at 8:00PM, the new feature length documentary from Sacred Cow Productions, ?How Weed Won the West? will be screened at the: Organica Dispensary 13456 Washington Blvd., Venice Beach, CA 90291 (the Organica Dispensary is the site of the LAPD raid from last year, as shown in the film) I always support filmmaker Kevin Booth?s efforts to raise awareness and exposing the ridiculous and dangerous draconian drug laws in the USA. I first learned about Kevin Booth many years ago, by being a huge fan of the late great comedian/satirist Bill Hicks. Kevin and Bill had been childhood friends. I feel that part of Bill?s long- silenced voice is still heard through he works of his friends such as Kevin Booth (Bill succumbed to pancreatic cancer in 1994 at the age of 32). How Weed Won the West? is the story of the people who probably would not die if you took their weed away. People who feel it is their right to smoke a dried flower instead of ingesting dangerous pharmaceuticals for medicine, or alcohol and cigarettes to simply catch a buzz. ==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o) ==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o) ==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o) ==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)==D~~(o)(o)
