Hello Again,

I'm trying something "new" today. You may or may not notice pictures
and images in this posting. I've always only used straight-up text.
As I was copy/pasting something for inclusion in today's post, I
noticed that I'd also copied an image. I chose to leave it in. I hope
they come out as planned (instead of rows upon rows of useless
gibberish in lieu of an image)... Let me know if it works for you.

Social Media:

I've recently discovered the usefulness of Twitter. I used to think
it was silly, but at Lightning in a Bottle I found it to be very
beneficial. LIB had been constantly updating their Twitter feed,
letting you know who was currently on what stage, and other up-to-the-
minute happenings throughout the weekend event.

Now you can follow me on Twitter, too. There are two options. Feel
free to go for them both. The first is mainly a companion to this
email list, the 2nd is more geared toward my random thoughts and
brilliant ideas:

	* http://twitter.com/twanslist

	* http://twitter.com/the_real_Twan

TwansList Email Subscribers:

Over the years, I've added and dropped various personal email
addresses, as have many people in this community. As such, there are
folks who used to be on this list who are no longer here (though I
suspect that they'd still like to be). Please forward the following
URL to your friends who you think might benefit from receiving these
messages from me from time to time. They can subscribe at the
following URL (or write to me directly and I'll sign them up):

Many thanx!

An artistic tour de force on its release, Midnight Cowboy is still a
brave and moving portrait of an unusual friendship. Jon Voight plays
Joe Buck, a naive country boy who travels to the big city to meet
rich women. Instead he meets Rizzo, a two bit con man played to
perfection by Dustin Hoffman. Together they brave 42nd st, Warhol
parties, and the wild world of manhattan in the late 60s. This
colorful backdrop is embellished by schlesinger's daring filmmaking
which incorporates the techniques of the psychedelic underground film
scene with one of hollywood's greatest stories. Winner of three
oscars. Co-presented by Outfest, proceeds will go towards 2010
Outfest Film Festival.

** CREATIVE CAPITAL ARTS GRANTS - LOOK INTO IT **

(This exhibit is not L.A. based, but I just thought I' share with you
the types of projects that get funded through the Creative Capital
program.
Artists should be aware of it... and go for the money! http://
creative-capital.org/ --Twan)

Katonah Museum of Art
Opening Event on Sunday, June 27
Exhibition on view in the Sculpture Garden June 1?October 31

2000 Visual Arts grantee Matthew Geller premieres Woozy Blossom
(Platanus nebulosus), an extension of his Creative Capital project,
this month at the Katonah Museum of Art (NY). Foggy Day, an earlier
iteration of the project, was a public installation in which Geller
transformed a heavily trafficked alley in New York City by adding
foliage, covering the ground with rubber ?puddles? and filling the
space with a fog of water and mist at certain times of the day,
adding a sense of otherworldliness to the work-day environment. Woozy
Blossom (Platanus nebulosus) takes this otherworldliness into the
Katonah Museum?s Sculpture Garden?the piece is a sixteen-foot-high
perforated steel tree that produces a continuous fog, inviting
visitors to be engulfed in its mist and revel in its cool, moist air.
The fog is in a constant state of flux, sensitive to the slightest
changes in wind, temperature and humidity. Woozy Blossom is
simultaneously eerie, unexpected and playful, transforming the
Sculpture Garden into an ever-changing, intimate, dreamlike space.
