We can all have a safe and fun time together. Parking: We request that everyone park at Union Station on Alameda (enter from the back). The parking there is $5 and it is the safest place to park in the area. You can either walk from the train station 5 blocks or ride the Metro Gold Line North from Union Station to the China Town Station, just one stop up the line. The entrance to the event is approximately 100 yards from the China Town Station. Items Not Allowed In: Per the parks request, security will be searching bags before you can buy your ticket and enter the event. Please do not bring with you Illegal Drugs, Alcohol, Weapons, Explosives, Markers, Paint, and GLOW STICKS (glow sticks are evil). We would also prefer you not bring anything that leaves a lot of MOOP like feather boas. Pets: Your furry friends are permitted at the event, however they must remain on a leash at all times (state parks law) AND since this is a Leave No Trace event, you must pick up after your pet leaves something from their behind. (or any moop really that your pet leaves behind). Here are some fun interactive ways you can participate in LA Decom . . . * The Burner Bizarre is setting up again this year, except this time its a full on clothing swap. Thats right. You are invited to clean out our closets. Clothing for all ages is welcome from infant to full grown. Also hats, handbags, gloves, shoes, and other accessories are welcome as well. And of course costume items are always welcome. Bring a big bag or just a few items. And while you are there gifting your stuff, go through what others have brought and take home some new duds. All left over clothing will be donated to "My Friends Place" www.myfriendsplace.org * Tabula Rasa is also coming back again this year. They are the beading and jewelry making camp. At BM this year they were place at Center Camp on Ring Road and therefore their beads were pretty depleted. They are asking everyone to bring their broken necklaces, left over beads, buttons, and crafting stuff. Anything that you could make jewelry out of and help resupply. And of course stay for a while and make something for yourself. * EcoSalon invites you to please bring your favorite teas (bagged) to Decom to enjoy with others at the EcoSalon 2010: a place to share environmental knowledge, meet the expers and ask questions over a nice cup o' tea! Please remember to bring your reusable mug (or water bottle)! * Midnight Ridazz: Bike Ride to Decom Bust out your blingy and blinky bikes, it's time to party!!! You can get around Black Rock City on a bike, so why not in our own "Metropolis" of Los Angeles? On Saturday, October 2, 2010, the LA Burning Man Decompression Festival ("Decom") - the destination of this ride - will be taking place with the theme of envisioning what a "Metropolis" could be, cutting across the art and theme camps this year. Could LA be more like Black Rock City? Imagine seeing everyone on bikes?? Like Burning Man, LA will be closing several streets to cars the next weekend after Decom so pedestrians, bikes, skaters, and everyone else can enjoy the first-ever CicLAvia event - ciclavia.org - in our town; check it out! Show up at Decom in style with your biking buddies from Midnight Ridazz, whether you've been to Burning Man or not :-) There will be a contest to see who has the best "blinky" lighting and best bling on your bike! This is a Leave No Trace Event! We encourage Radical Self Reliance, Radical Self Expression, and Radical Inclusivity! We present to LA a Gifting economy that encourages Decommodification! Our Civic Responsibility and Communal Effort nourish active Participation by all attendees! Become a part of the beauty and culture that is LA BM Decompression! ~)'(~ See you in the Park! Diego Novoa aka El Papachango grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he began his career as sound engineer and dj, tinkering around with speakers and amps at the ripe age of fifteen.
